In competition with 127 other Danish artists Kasper Heron Købke won MyArtSpace.dk’s Art Talent Award 2010. MyArtSpace.dk is an online gallery and community for artists with more than 1.500 different artists.

• Louise Rahbek; Co-founder and partner of ’Larm Galleri’ in Copenhagen. Has 15 years of experiences in the art world.

 

• Tom Jørgensen; Chief Editor at ’Kunstavisen’ (Danish Art Magazine) and has publiced the book ’101 kunstnere’ (‘101 artists’).

 

• Tom Hermansen; Holds an MA in Art History from the University of Aarhus and has for five years worked as an art critic and cultural reporter for the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten.

 

 

The judges reasons for choosing Kasper Heron Købke as Art Talent 2010:

 

“Excellent technical skills combined with atmosphere and motif makes Kasper Heron Købke’s art pieces stand out from all the others. The sense for details, the ability to see ordinary everyday objects like historical building, garbage and a fallen bamboo as motifs for an art piece makes Købke more than just an excellent craftsman. In his hand all the well-known gets a touch of magic. We recognize it, but in a new perspective, which is not free of a slightly adventurous atmosphere. For better or worse. Because Købke wants to show us that the world is full of both opportunities and dangers, and that the unexpected can happen anytime."

 

 

Besides the honour of being awarded as Art Talent 2010, Kasper Heron Købke won, beyond other things, an exhibition Spot at Art Copenhagen 2010, the greatest Art Fair in Scandinavia, which took place from the 17th to 19th of September 2010.
